About Meet Munch Jr
This short doco is about how a father’s love inspires an autistic teen to express himself by bringing his cartoon character to life.
Sixteen-year-old Nikau wants to create his own real-life hand puppet. He’s a keen artist and animator. He’s also on the Autism spectrum. His dad, Ali Cowley, is helping him bring the puppet alive from a drawing on a page to a real-life hand puppet.

He’s his son’s number one supporter when it comes to his art. Meet Munch Jr. is an observational look at the journey both father and son take to realise Nikau’s dreams.

Teen robs store with banana, eats evidence! David Lim, Auckland

Sunday May 17, 2009

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina - Police say a North Carolina teen who was thwarted as he tried to rob a store with a banana ate it before they could arrive.

Winston-Salem authorities say 17-year-old John Szwalla held the banana under his shirt when he entered the store, saying he had a gun and demanded money, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.

Owner Bobby Ray Mabe says he and a customer jumped Szwalla, holding him until deputies arrived. While they waited, Mabe says the teen ate the banana.

Mabe says deputies took pictures of the banana peel. Forsyth County Sheriff's office spokesman Maj. Brad Stanley says deputies joked about charging Szwalla with destroying evidence.

Szwalla faces a charge of attempted armed robbery. Jail officials say he doesn't have an attorney.

Taranaki police were shocked after clocking a teenager driving at 195km/h, with four passengers in his car.

"It would be the highest speed I've ever seen on the radar," Detective Kim Severinsen told the Dominion Post.

The incident happened on Tuesday on State Highway 3.

Police chased the 19-year-old's car into Eltham, in South Taranaki, where he tried to hide the vehicle behind a friend's house.

The driver was arrested and charged with excess blood alcohol, failing to stop and driving at excessive speed. (Source: New Zealand Herald). Non-related video clip.
