Apple iPhone 4 Repair and Unlocking: Apple's All-Time Top 10 Free iPad Apps (www.drmobiles.co.nz)

Screen shot 2011-01-20 at 2.01.04 PM

Yesterday, we went over the top 10 free iPhone Apps available on the App Store (the paid apps, too). It was a list of the most downloaded free applications of all time. While it may not always reflect the quality of each App, it does indicate their popularity.
That said, there are also plenty of iPad Apps that are getting attention. Here's a List of the most popular:

Pandora on the iPad is great for listening to music while you browse, or catch up on your RSS feeds. You simply search for the artist or music you want to listen to and hit play. There's a lot to listen to on Pandora radio, and it's a free App worth taking a look at.

Much like Google Mobile for iPhone, Google mobile for iPad gives you a suite of Google applications within a single iPad App. You can search the internet with pictures and voice, logos and more. Heck, this thing even solves Sudoku puzzles. That's reason enough to check it out.

3) Movies
Check movie showtimes and whats coming both in the theater and to home video. You can check out what's topping in the box office or view trailers for movies if you want to know what they are about. The App also includes Rotten Tomatoes ratings, which helps to give you an idea of how well-received the movie is by critics.

This is always a cool application because it may be the closest we get to seeing some of these places that are way off on the other side of the world. It's okay though. Traveling by plane is kind of a hassle these days, and this is much easier.

5) Yelp
If you do like traveling, especially on the road, this may be the App for you. Yelp helps you find restaurants, bars, hotels and gas stations nearby based on your location. Apps like this one quickly become a traveler's best friend in unfamiliar territory.

Like the popular Fandango website, this application allows you to purchase movie tickets online, this time through your iDevice. You can also sort movies by genre, MPAA rating and format (such as IMAX and 3D).

7) Remote
Remote for iPhone has long been a favorite App of ours. When it came to iPad, it got even better, because searching for movies on Apple TV was much faster with a the larger keyboard. Anyone who has had to use the stock remote that comes with Apple TV (especially the older-generation model) knows that it's a pain. This App is for those users.
It's worth adding that it also works with iTunes, but we've rarely used it for that. We're sure someone out there does.

8) iBooks
Being that Apple talks pushes this App and it's actually one of their selling points, it's strange to actually see this application so low on the list. Then again, we rarely use it for reading books ourselves. However, the ability to read PDF files makes it more than worth the free download.

9) Bible
The Bible is one of the most well-known and most-purchased books ever. It's no surprise that the Bible is a popular download on the App Store.

We were never quite fans of solitaire, but know plenty of people who are. This App is free, and it's a very popular card game that almost everybody has on their computer. Why not add it to your iPad as well?

The Free Apps
Free Apps are, of course, ad supported. Maybe there are exceptions out there, but none come to mind right offhand. That said, there are some Apps you will take a liking to and some you may not particularly care for. One of the best things about free Apps is that you can check them out without any sort of feeling of commitment. If you don't like it, you can trash it and it's no big loss. Perhaps that's why free App downloads are so popular.
What are your favorite free iPad Apps?

2011 Apple iPhone 4 Free Apps: 5 Free Twitter Apps for iPhone (www.drmobiles.co.nz)

Twitter-bird-logo
There are a vast number of Twitter Apps available for the iPhone. Some are free, and others are paid. We aren't fans of paying for Twitter Apps, because there are plenty of great free ones already availalbe and they are all very capable pieces of software.
Let's take a look at some of our favorites:

1) TweetDeck
IPhone Screenshot 1
TweetDeck is nice because it divides everyting into columns sucha as your friends timeline, @ tweets meant for you and direct messages. Those columns also make it one of our favorite apps for managing multiple Twitter accounts. We just really enjoy the way it's set up.

2) Echofon
IPhone Screenshot 1
Echofon is a fairly basic Twitter app with all the functions you need. This is a great App to go for if you like a simple interface and if Tweet Deck seems a bit busy for your tastes.

3) UberCurrent
IPhone Screenshot 1
Twitter is also an excellent way to keep up with the news. Ubercurrent is nice in the sense that it seemingly sets up Twitter for you. You can log in, and it offers a variety of lists so that you can quickly look around at what is happening without having to look at your own friends timeline. It's nothing you cant do without lists, but it's nice to have all those Tweets available with a quick touch. Other than that, it works like a standard Twitter App.

4) Twitterfiffic

Twitterriffic is another great Twitter App that's available for the low price of free, and is very easy to use. It's your regular universal Twitter client for iPhone and iPad, worth checking out if you want a clean interface.

2011 Tech Review: The HTC Incredible S - Sexy and Curvy (google android repair, iPhone 4 Repair)

23-March-2011:  The unfortunate naming aside (seriously, didn't anyone say it out loud before they announced it?), the Incredible S is a pretty great smartphone. You've got spotless connectivity, an exciting new screen, those cool rotating buttons and the proven power of Snapdragon under the hood.

HTC has earned a name for itself and there's no wonder that the launch of the Incredible S was greeted with excitement. Their new potential bestseller is too important a device to go unnoticed even if it tries to be merely an evolutionary, rather than revolutionary step forward.
It seems the Incredible S has got the proper set of ingredients to make for a really capable smartphone at a reasonable price (for a high-end device, that is).

Key features

  • Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support
  • 14.4 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA
  • 4" 16M-color capacitive LCD touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels)
  • The best screen on an HTC device by some distance
  • Android OS v2.2 Froyo with HTC Sense UI (ver. 2.3 update promised soon after launch)
  • 1 GHz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset
  • 768 MB RAM and 1.5 GB ROM
  • 8 MP autofocus camera with LED flash and geotagging
  • 720p video recording @ 30fps
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n and DLNA
  • GPS with A-GPS
  • microSD slot up to 32GB (8GB card included)
  • Accelerometer and proximity sensor
  • Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • microUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v2.1
  • Smart dialing, voice dialing
  • Front facing camera for video calling
  • DivX/XviD video support
  • Dolby Mobile and SRS sound enhancement
  • HTC Locations app
  • HTCSense.com integration
  • HTC Portable Hotspot
  • Ultra-fast boot times (if you don't remove battery)

Main disadvantages

  • No dedicated camera key and no lens cover
  • Runs Froyo on launch, instead of Gingerbread
  • Poor video recording, 720p footage is pretty jerky
  • Uninspiring audio quality
2010 was the year of the droid in the smartphone calendar and Google will undoubtedly try to serve us more of the same in 2011. To achieve such an explosive growth is a tall task, but certainly not impossible. There are two things that the Open Handset Alliance will need to achieve in order to complete it.
First, they will need to finally grab a sizable share of the lower mid-range market and second they need to maintain their positions in the high-end segment, which has been their stronghold lately.
And while the implosion of Symbian will certainly help the droid army with their march towards lower segments, some serious efforts will be required to keep iOS and the rapidly improving WP7 at bay on the top.
That's why devices like the HTC Incredible S are so important. Not only do they need to generate as much revenue as possible for their manufacturer, but they also need to perform well to maintain the platform's reputation.

This certainly is a heavy burden, but is the Incredible S fit to carry it?
